IEC 60317-56:2017 pdf download.Specifications for particular types of winding wires – Part 56: Solderable fully insulated (FIW) zero-defect polyurethane enamelled round copper wire, class 180
1 Scope
This part of IEC 6031 7 specifies the requirements of solderable fully insulated (FIW) zero- defect enamelled round copper wire, class 1 80, with a single coating based on polyurethane resin, which may be modified providing it retains its chemical identity and satisfies all the required technical specifications. The range of nominal conductor diameters of the wires covered by this standard is as follows: • Grade of FIW 4, 6, 8: 0,090 mm up to and including 0,900 mm. Nominal conductor diameters are specified in IEC 6031 7-0-7–.

3 Terms and definitions, general notes and appearance
3.1 Terms and definitions Subclause 3.1 of IEC 6031 7-0-7:– applies. 3.2 General notes 3.2.1 Methods of test Subclause 3.2 of IEC 6031 7-0-7:– applies. In case of inconsistencies between IEC 6031 7-0-7 and this document, the latter shall prevail. 3.2.2 Winding wire A modified resin is one that has undergone a chemical change or contains one or more additives to enhance certain performance or application characteristics. Class 1 80 is a thermal class requiring a temperature index of at least 1 80 °C and a heat shock temperature of at least 200 °C. The temperature in °C corresponding to the temperature index is not necessarily the temperature recommended as the wire’s temperature in use, since this temperature depends on many factors, including the type of electrical equipment involved.
